Chelsea and Manchester United interested in Liverpool target Joe Gelhardt
Joe Gelhardt is one of the brightest talents in Wigan Athletic. The 17-year-old has made eight appearances in the first-team but has been linked with Liverpool (h/t Express).
The English striker seems to have caught the attention of other top clubs, with the Daily Star (h/t Express) reporting that Chelsea are also interested in him.
Manchester United are also keen on the 17-year-old but the Latics aren’t under any pressure to sell the forward (h/t Express).
Wigan are unlikely to sell the youngster in the winter window and value Gelhardt at £5million with possible add-ons (h/t Express).
The youngster also signed a new deal with the Championship club, and it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming months.
Liverpool could do with firepower for their youth team
The Reds lost Paul Glatzel to a serious knee injury during pre-season as the youngster seemed set to impress in the campaign.
Bobby Duncan, another young striker, left for Fiorentina after a major bust-up, thanks to his agent. The Reds didn’t make any attacking signings in the summer apart from getting Harvey Elliott.
Liverpool have a quality setup at the moment and getting Gelhardt in the ranks would be great.
