“There’s nothing to say” – Klopp plays it safe regarding links with 19-year-old winger

Jurgen Klopp plays it safe regarding Jadon Sancho links

Jurgen Klopp wasn’t giving out much regarding recent links with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The Englishman has been excellent in the Bundesliga since leaving Manchester City. However, the 19-year-old is said to be unhappy at Dortmund and was fined by the club after returning late in October (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Sancho has also been dropped from some big games and Liverpool have been linked with the teenager (h/t Liverpool Echo

).

However, Klopp wasn’t getting drawn to these rumours and lauded the player (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“He’s a very good player.

“I have no clue where these kind of things are coming from, but it cannot come from us because we never speak about it.”

Klopp went on to say that if we were involved with the player, there would be no news of it. He also highlighted the possible price of the player but again, didn’t give too much away:

“If we would be involved, nobody would know about it apart from a person who wouldn’t speak about it. There’s nothing to say.

“Cost? That’s one issue, 100 per cent that would be an issue. But there’s nothing to say about it.

“I know how it sounds, but I cannot change that. There’s nothing to say about it, which can mean there’s absolutely nothing to say about it.”

Sancho starring for Dortmund

For all the problems with the Englishman, Sancho is still doing a decent job at Dortmund.

The winger has six goals and seven assists for Dortmund in all competitions. He has also played for the England national team in their recent Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Sancho would be an excellent addition for this Liverpool team. He would provide cover and competition for our wide men.
