According to Sky Sports, German playmaker and Liverpool target Kai Havertz looks set to see out the season with Bayer Leverkusen.
The German international is one of the best talents in Europe and has some of the best clubs clamouring for his signature.
Having come through the Bayer Leverkusen youth system, Havertz is the club’s youngest ever debutant, making his presence felt at 17 years and 126 days in 2016.
He has gone on to play for Leverkusen 121 times and has scored 31 goals. His performances have seen him win 7 caps for Germany, all by the age of 20.
Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the German and remain keen on securing his signature (h/t Sky Sports).
At 6’1, Havertz is an imposing presence in the midfield. He is also creative and has a keen eye for goal.
A player such as Havertz can truly go on to become a world-class midfielder under Jurgen Klopp’s tutelage.
However, it remains to be seen if a transfer can happen in January. According to the Mirror, Havertz prefers a move to our rivals Manchester United
Other teams interested in the player are Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich (h/t Sky Sports), with Leverkusen expecting bids around £111m.
With so many clubs chasing his signature, it will be interesting to see how things play out in the future. But for now, it looks like Havertz will stay put.
