The 21-year-old striker who joined Lille from Charleroi in the summer has taken Ligue 1 by storm. The forward has made 24 appearances for Lille and has scored 13 goals and 3 assists. 10 of these goals have come in the league, where the Nigerian occupies the third spot in the race for the golden boot. (h/t Whoscored) His impressive performances have helped Lille climb to fourth place on the table.
Brought in as a replacement for Nicolas Pepe, the youngster has done justice to the faith shown in him by the Les Dogues faithful. Liverpool have had a miserable injury record in recent weeks. The Reds are thin on numbers, having lost a score of first-teamers going into the business end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp is a fan of Osimhen. With the January window open, the German manager must make a move for the striker. However, this could now be in threat, with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona entering the race.
Although Osimhen is expected to stay at Lille this window, a lucrative offer may force the club’s hand. (h/t Sky Sports)
