“Firmino 2.0”- Some Liverpool fans react to this star’s performance vs Everton

Twitter reacts as Takumi Minamino makes his Reds debut

In the end, it was no fairytale debut but it was promising. Takumi Minamino lasted only 71 minutes on his Reds debut but gave a glimpse of what he can add to this Liverpool side in the Red’s 1-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield.

Minamino moved to Liverpool in a deal worth £7.25 million having impressed at RB Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League.

With injuries and a heavy schedule to contend with, Jurgen Klopp made 9 changes to the team with the new Liverpool number 18 starting upfront.

The Japanese playmaker had a lively start to the game but faded as we got into the second half.

The 24-year-old impressed with his tenacity and grit and showed his ability to make runs and create space for his teammates.

It was an unspectacular but solid performance that will have pleased Klopp and Minamino came off in the 71st minute to be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Liverpool won the game 1-0 thanks to a Curtis Jones wonder goal with Everton’s Anfield curse set to continue for another year.

The Reds will find out their opponents in the fourth round in the draw to be held later today.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter to talk about our new number 18. Here we take a look at a few of the reactions.
