This represents a profit of £2.7million on a player who has made no appearances for the Reds. The 22-year-old joined the club from Brazilian club Internacional in 2015 for £500,000. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

The player’s inability to obtain a work permit has lead to the player spending the duration of his time at Liverpool out on loan. Allan has been out on loan 6 times in his 5 years at Liverpool.

Allan spent 2019 on loan at Fluminense for whom he made 28 appearances. The Brazilian club looked set to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis, but backed out permitting Mineiro to make their move.

The Brazilian had six months remaining on his present Anfield contract. The club had the option to extend his deal by 12 months.

With the player unable to secure his work permit, Liverpool have chosen not to exercise the option and instead sell the player.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is said to have been impressed by the player upon his arrival at Merseyside and had made up his mind to bring the player into the Reds lineup. (h/t Daily Mail)

Unfortunately, it was not to be and the midfielder will now try his luck in the Brazilian first division.
