Dejan Lovren and Fabinho to return to full training next week
Jurgen Klopp expects key defensive duo Dejan Lovren and Fabinho to return to training next week, ahead of the clash against Manchester United. (h/t Liverpool FC)
This should come as welcome news as Liverpool are currently suffering from an injury crisis. With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returning last week, the addition of Fabinho and Lovren will give Klopp more options going into the business end of the season.
Speaking ahead of the game against Tottenham, Klopp was unsure if the players will feature against United.
“Dejan and Fabinho we expect to be back next week in full training – that is obviously good. Whether that is in time for the Man United game we don’t know.”
“They work really hard at the moment, they are going through their paces and that’s good.”
Liverpool have had a lengthy injury list of late, with the likes of James Milner, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Nathaniel Clyne, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in recent months.
The Reds have coped well in their absence and having them available again will only strengthen the team further. Matip and Shaqiri also trained with the squad this season and could also be in the fray for the United game. Keita and Milner are still out injured while Nathaniel Clyne is unavailable.
