Twitter reacts to Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be furious as his side surrendered a two-goal lead against League One side, Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup 4th round at New Meadow. Klopp made 11 changes to the team that won away at Wolves, with Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren making their return from injury.
Youngster Curtis Jones continued from where he left off to give his side the lead after 15 minutes. The Reds dominated for the majority of the half and looked to have settled the tie when Donald Love scored at the wrong end to double the Merseysiders’ lead.
A spirited fightback from Shrewsbury ensured that the game went into a replay. Jason Cummings scored twice in the space of ten second-half minutes for an unlikely comeback.
The teams will now face off at Anfield on 5th February. The replay will coincide with Liverpool’s winter break and Klopp has confirmed that no first-team stars will be involved in the fixture. Under-23 manager Neil Critchley will manage the side for the replay.
Reds fans will not have been happy, having surrendered a two-goal lead to a side that is 56 places below us in the English footballing pyramid. We take a look at some of the reactions on Twitter.
