Jurgen Klopp provides injury update on Divock Origi
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is optimistic that the injury sustained by striker Divock Origi is not serious. (h/t Liverpoolfc)
This does come as a relief since we already have Sadio Mane out injured for the next couple of weeks.
Speaking to journalists after the match, the German manager spoke of his concern about the player coming off, especially with a game three days later (h/t Liverpoolfc).
Liverpool play Southampton on Saturday and then Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup fourth-round replay on 4th February. As a result, Takumi Minamino could be in line to take the striker’s spot for the clash against Southampton.

Origi has often been relied on to come off the bench and lead the line in place of the regular front three. The Belgian striker has made 30 appearances for Liverpool this season and scored 5 times. (h/t Whoscored)
It is notable that 19 of his 30 appearances have been off the bench.
