Adam Lallana courted by Premier League rivals for summer transfer

Adam Lallana has emerged as one of the unsung heroes of Liverpool’s defining season in the Premier League.

The  31-year-old has provided Jurgen Klopp with a dependable option off the bench, who can come on and change the flow of the game. Lallana has redefined himself in a withdrawn role in the Liverpool midfield and it has paid dividends to both the club and player.

The midfielder has 2-3 seasons left at the highest level and it will be a big loss for Jurgen Klopp when the player’s contract expires in the summer. A skilled player on the ball, his injuries have overshadowed his abilities on the pitch.

With the player available for free in the summer, a number of clubs have emerged as potential suitors, according to the Telegraph.

Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on the 31-year-old. Lallana is not expected to renew his Liverpool contract and will leave on a Bosman in the summer.

Lallana was considered a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s plans. He was a regular name on the teamsheet in the German’s first few months at the club. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented the player from having a telling impact in Klopp’s Red revolution.

Klopp has a very close relationship with Lallana and would rather keep the player. However, it is hard to see him break into the first-team on a regular basis, given the quality of the Liverpool side.

He still remains a valuable member of the squad and is keen on remaining focussed on Liverpool’s trophy ambitions. Lallana signed for Liverpool from Southampton in 2014. He has gone on to make 175 appearances for the Reds since then.

He famously came off the bench to score a late equalizer at Old Trafford this season, preserving Liverpool’s unbeaten run.
