Jurgen Klopp has a special clause in his Liverpool contract

Jurgen Klopp has transformed Liverpool since taking charge of the club in 2015. The German maestro has taken the Reds from mediocrity to the top of European and world football in four years at the club.

It is only natural for the Reds to want to repay the manager for his efforts and show gratitude for the man who made us dream again at Anfield.

Klopp put to pen a new contract that will keep him at Merseyside until 2024. Should he decide to move on upon the expiry of the contract, he can make use of a ‘special clause’. According to the terms of the clause, the club will provide all assistance to the manager in relocating to Germany.

According to the Independent (h/t Express), the club is contractually bound to help the Liverpool manager in his efforts to return to his native Germany.

The decision to take the club on its offer rests solely at the manager’s discretion. Usually, managers take care of their own relocation including accommodation and educational facilities for their children. Liverpool’s move to ease the process for Klopp should make the German’s job easier.

By extending his Merseyside stay by two more years, this will be Klopp’s longest tenure at a club if he sees out the duration of his contract.

The lively German is a perfect fit for the Reds and has built a bond with the supporters that will transcend his time at Anfield.
