Liverpool loanee Herbie Kane’s season cut short by injury
On-loan Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane will miss the rest of the season after picking up an injury. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
A graduate of the Liverpool academy, Kane joined the Reds from Bristol City in 2013. He has made two appearances for the senior team, both in the League Cup. He came on as a substitute against Milton Keynes Dons before making his full debut against Aston Villa in the quarter-finals this season.
Kane was selected for the League One Team of the Season in 2018-19. He impressed while on loan at Doncaster Rovers where he scored scoring seven goals in 49 appearances.
The 21-year-old joined Hull City on loan in the January transfer window. Here the youngster was reunited with Grant McCann, his former boss at Doncaster Rovers.
McCann confirmed that Kane will miss the rest of the season after damaging his ankle ligaments. Although the Tigers will go for a second opinion, the Irishman says it is unlikely that Kane will feature again this season.
It is an anti-climatic end for the youngster who was keen on getting first-team opportunities. The midfielder made six appearances for the Tigers before his injury.

The youngster has represented England at the Under-17 level. A lively midfielder, Kane was one of three Liverpool youngsters nominated for the Golden Boy award in 2018.
