Dani Ceballos explains why he chose Arsenal over Liverpool

Dani Ceballos hasn’t lived up to the start he made at Arsenal. It could have been so different had he instead made the switch to Merseyside in the summer. (h/t Mirror)

The 23-year-old was made available on loan by Real Madrid last summer. The Gunners eventually won the race for his signature.

The midfielder started off well – earning rave reviews for his performance at Burnley. Unfortunately, he hasn’t hit the same heights since and has played just once under new manager Mikel Arteta.

Dani Ceballos has had a tough time at Anfield this season

Ceballos has opened up on choosing Arsenal over a move at Anfield. Touching upon the topic Ceballos confirmed that there was interest from Anfield. He, however, chose to move to the Emirates because of Emery and also because he did not fit Klopp’s style of football (h/t Mirror).

It is difficult to gauge how Ceballos could have done in Liverpool. He has, however, had two forgetful trips to Anfield so far. He was outclassed in a 3-1 loss in the league and then missed his spot-kick as Liverpool dumped Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup on penalties.

The 23-year old has made just 15 appearances for Arsenal so far, eight of them off the bench. (h/t Whoscored)
