Brendan Rodgers expects Adam Lallana to weigh his options in the summer
Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is out of contract in the summer. The 31-year-old is set to leave the club when his contract expires with a number of Premier League clubs interested.
Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on the 31-year-old. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the midfielder he signed for Liverpool in 2014.
The North Irishman has called Lallana a top-rated player and stated that the 31-year-old will be weighing up his options. (h/t Sky Sports)
“He has done brilliantly [at Liverpool] and I’m sure he will be weighing up his options.”
Rodgers refused to give anything more away stating that there had been already enough discussions regarding the player in the January transfer window.
Lallana was expected to grow into a key player for Jurgen Klopp. He was a regular name on the teamsheet in the German’s first few months at the club. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented the player from having the expected impact in Klopp’s Red revolution.
Klopp retains a very close relationship with Lallana and would rather keep the player if given the choice. However, it is hard to see him break into the first-team on a regular basis, given the quality of the current Liverpool side.
The 31-year-old still has 2-3 seasons left at the highest level and can be a regular for a number of excellent teams.
