Leicester City make initial approach for Adam Lallana
Leicester City have made an initial approach to Adam Lallana’s representatives with a view of a summer transfer for the midfielder, according to Sky Sports.
The Liverpool midfielder is a free agent this summer and has attracted considerable attention from Premier League clubs. The 31-year-old has been at Anfield since 2014 and has made 175 appearances, scoring 22 goals for the Merseysiders in his five and a half seasons at the club.
He was one of the players brought in by Brendan Rodgers during his stint as Liverpool manager. The former Liverpool manager worked with the player for 15 months in which the Englishman established himself as an important player in the post-Suarez Liverpool squad.
A reunion on the cards?
Rodgers is keen on reuniting with the midfielder, prompting the Foxes to declare their interest early. Liverpool will not be offering Lallana a new contract and have given him permission to plan his future ahead. Leicester City are keen on securing a new winger and the Foxes boss views Lallana as the ideal player for the position.
The Foxes are currently third in the English Premier League and look likely to offer Champions League football next season.
