Jurgen Klopp tells off fans for unwise gesture amidst coronavirus fears
According to Daily Mail, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp did not hold back in telling off fans who attempted to touch him ahead of the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid.
The club has recently released a pointer for fans regarding the safe practices to be inculcated following the coronavirus outbreak that has been spreading alarmingly all across the world. It is clear that the club are serious about doing what they can and the manager too isn’t taking any chances.
As the players and staff exited the tunnel, the fans in the stands put out their arms for high fives. It’s a harmless gesture that is often returned by the manager and his players.

Not so this time as Klopp slated off the fans for their actions. He reacted angrily and jumped away from them while telling them in no uncertain terms to keep their hands to themselves.
“Put your hands away you f****** idiots”
The German’s reaction is perfectly understandable, given the directives regarding the spread of the virus. Handshakes are banned by the Premier League and a number of other leagues across Europe in a bid to prevent the virus from spreading.
The Liverpool manager also had a humorous exchange with his counterpart Diego Simeone as they elbow bumped each other rather than the traditional shake of hands. Both sets of players too passed on the pre-match handshakes. They instead went directly ahead to the kick-off following the Champions League anthem.
A message to the society
Klopp has always been clear regarding the seriousness of the situation. He has given his approval in players avoiding handshakes by saying that it sends a positive message to the society.
‘What we do by not shaking hands is sending a sign. It’s good for you, it’s good for me, that we don’t shake hands now.
Given his thoughts on the matter, his reaction should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the German.
