Liverpool join Arsenal in pursuit of Bundesliga ace Evan Ndicka

According to a report by Sky Sports, Liverpool and Arsenal are both monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka regarding a possible summer move.

With footballing action suspended until the end of April, it remains to be seen as to how the delay will impact the transfer window. However, both clubs were eyeing him before the coronavirus broke out, as per Sky Sports.

Having made 15 appearances across competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, Ndicka has enjoyed a breakout season so far. A left-footed centre-back by trade, the youngster is a part of the France U21 team as well.

The report suggests that Ndicka has no shortage of suitors, with the likes of Valencia, Sevilla, Inter Milan and AC Milan all vying for his signature.

Liverpool’s central defence could use some padding, with Dejan Lovren making merely 9 appearances so far this term. The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have been keeping the show running but going forward, it would be advisable to have a young option like Ndicka.

Although the summer window was scheduled to be held from June 18, Sky Sports suggests that it remains to be seen how things fare. The season will resume once the spread of the virus is curbed but until then, nothing can be confirmed.

The report goes on to add that FIFA is looking into the situation to ascertain how to deal with players whose contracts expire at the end of June.

All said and done, Liverpool’s interest in Ndicka certainly makes sense and it is a transfer move worth pursuing once things return to normal.
