“Surreal”- Liverpool star shares the experience of training from home via video conferencing

Virgil van Dijk opens up on the experience of training from home

Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk joined up with LFC TV presenter Pete McDowall in a short interview posted on the club’s official Youtube channel.

The duo touched upon a variety of topics including the experience of training from home. The Dutchman revealed that it has been a rather surreal experience having to go through events that he had only seen in movies before.

“The reality is that it is just a crazy time right now.And the most important thing is everyone’s safety”

He also confirmed that he and his family are doing fine before going on to agree with Jordan Henderson’s assertion that the players can make the best of this lockdown to spend more time with his family.

“Just enjoy it.Don’t take it for granted”

Liverpool made it all the way to the final of the Champions League in the last two seasons. It involved playing a number of high-profile games with the matches coming thick and fast.

Van Dijk admitted that being unable to do so right now requires a different mindset. He touched upon the training from home by revealing that its is important to maintain a consistent rhythm.

It is imperative that the players are ready for action when the league resumes, and Van Dijk is well aware of it. Liverpool restarted group training via video conferencing this week. The Dutchman expressed his joy at being able to see his teammates again.

Van Dijk finds training from home a surreal experience

He expects the sessions to continue and is looking forward to it, especially doing yoga. Training together via video may be bizarre, even comical at times.

However, desperate times require desperate measures and just like on the pitch, Van Dijk looks capable of dealing with emergencies off it with his trademark cool.

The 28-year-old is a leader on the pitch. He is one off it as well as he checks up on how his teammates have been doing in these difficult times.

Stay home, stay safe!

Van Dijk urged the need to do the right thing in these troubled times. He called upon everyone to stay at home and keep themselves and their families safe.

He asked people to make the most of the situation to spend more time with their family.

“You don’t just help yourself, but you help each other as well”
