Liverpool legend shows gratitude to NHS workers with heartfelt gesture

Alan Hansen to host free dinner for NHS workers at Otto’s restaurant

According to the Evening Standard, Liverpool legend Alan Hansen will help throw a dinner for NHS workers at Otto’s restaurant.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen the heroes of the real-world, doctors and other healthcare personnel take centre stage. Their contribution has been such that our heroes on the pitch, from both past and present, are doing their best to show their gratitude to those tasked with keeping us safe.

One such hero is Alan Hansen. The former Liverpool skipper will team up with the owner of Otto’s restaurant to organize a free dinner for NHS staff at St.Thomas.

The announcement was made on Instagram. The doctors and nurses at the Critical Care Centre at St.Thomas will be appreciated for their selfless work once we overcome this crisis.

Luxury venue Otto’s is one of the many restaurants across London that has been cooking and delivering food to NHS hospitals during the coronavirus outbreak. The restaurant has also requested for monetary and material donations to help fund their scheme.

Priorities made clear!

The Reds have attempted to do their part for the Merseyside community by donating to local food banks. The club has launched new schemes to help the vulnerable and ensuring their staff are paid in spite of matches being suspended.

Liverpool have pledged to donate generously to local foodbanks

Liverpool could end up paying as much as £750,000 to help pay the non-essential staff for the suspended home games. The club alongside the LFC Foundation and Red Neighbours also pledged £40,000 to back Fans Supporting Foodbanks in the absence of Premier League football.

The club also launched an initiative known as LFC Connect. Its aim is to encourage elderly people around the community to keep in touch and share any issues or worries they have.
