Liverpool among clubs urged to make a move for Milot Rashica

According to Radio Marte (h/t Birmingham Mail), Nek Capric, the representative of Bundesliga star Milot Rashica has urged clubs to make a move for the Werder Bremen star.

Interest from the Premier League is high with both Aston Villa and Southampton also monitoring the Kosovan international’s situation, along with our club (h/t Birmingham Mail).

Capric confirmed that there have been several approaches from a number of teams across the continent for the player. Although Italian giants Napoli remains interested, there has been no official approach (h/t Birmingham Mail).

The Italians could pose the biggest challenge for us to obtain the player. Napoli scouts have watched Rashica in action numerous times this season and a number of intermediaries have made contact. However, there hasn’t been any official contact with the club (h/t Birmingham Mail).

Napoli do appear to be at the head of the line but will need to hurry if they want to secure the player (h/t Birmingham Mail).

“We are open to any proposal and Napoli’s interest is certainly welcome, but it must be said that there are many requests for Rashica also in the Premier and Bundesliga. With the lock-down of the championships, we are already looking around.”

The Kosovan international has enjoyed a fine season in the Bundesliga for Die Werderaner and has contributed 10 goals and five assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

A dependable backup!

Primarily a left-winger, Rashica is a versatile attacker who can also play upfront as a centre-forward or second striker. This versatility should be an added bonus to the Liverpool attack that is fluid and interchangeable. His low center of gravity and knack for opening up defenses will add a further dimension to our attack, should he sign for us.

One area where Liverpool are in need of strengthening is backups for the front three. Divock Origi has failed to perform consistently while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been more effective in the middle of the park.

Rashica can become a solid addition to the Reds squad

With Adam Lallana’s contract expiring and Xherdan Shaqiri linked with a move away, Rashica would be a solid addition to our squad. He is expected to cost in the region of £35m.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will also be missing mid-season owing to the African Cup of Nations. Having a reliable backup will help lessen the blow of losing our two best attackers.

Rashica joined Werder Bremen in 2017 from Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem and has gone on to make 64 appearances for the club.

He is expected to leave Bremen at the end of this season (h/t Birmingham Mail). The Germans are currently second from bottom in the Bundesliga with relegation a real possibility.
