Jurgen Klopp reveals WhatsApp conversations with Liverpool players during lockdown
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he keeps posting videos of Reds’ old matches in WhatsApp groups with his players (h/t Liverpoolfc.com).
The coronavirus outbreak has led to the Premier League season being suspended and it remains unclear when footballing action will resume.
Liverpool are just two wins away from winning their first ever Premier League title. With lockdown in place in the UK, players have been training at their homes, while staying in contact over the phone.
And now, Klopp has revealed that he tries to keep players motivated by posting videos of old victories and our Champions League triumph last season (h/t Liverpoolfc.com).
“I started with a video about the trophy celebration after the Champions League, it popped up on my YouTube list and I watched it, three or four minutes. So I put it in the group with the little phrase, ‘Still true’.”
The German tactician then revealed that he had posted videos of the Barcelona comeback and wins against Manchester United and Manchester City, before encouraging the players to share their own favourite videos (h/t Liverpoolfc.com).
“The boys sent a lot of their own videos which they made when we were on the truck driving through the city. You can see that they really enjoyed that and they are looking forward to something similar.”
