Twitter erupts as Liverpool crowned English Premier League Champions
Liverpool put thirty years of hurt and heartbreak behind them to finally put an end to their Premier League drought.
Once the top dogs in English football, not many would have banked on the Reds having to wait for three decades to turn 18 to 19. That is exactly what happened and it took a magical German and a group of players who never say die to take us back to the perch.
With a 23-point lead with seven games to go, not only have we won the title easily but have done so at a canter. It is saying something that a global pandemic was the biggest threat to us over our rivals on the pitch.
Ironically it was Willian, a player who rejected the Reds seven years ago for Chelsea, who coolly slotted the ball past Manchester City’s Ederson to ensure the title will head to Anfield.
Football is a funny game at times, but then it can also be a great leveler. Jurgen’s Reds are back on the perch and the view is quite something to behold.
We take a look at how some fans celebrated this historic moment on Twitter. Few of them are given below.
Twitter reacts as domestic glory returns to Liverpool
Have watched nearly every Liverpool game since I was 14. I was on that bootleg steam life. I promised myself (and had the money saved for years) that if they won the PL title, I’d be there. Of course they win in a year where I can’t enter the UK. Life is weird. Sports weirder.
