Thiago Alcantara keen on Liverpool move claims Fabrizio Romano

Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is intent on joining Liverpool in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old Spanish international, who has requested a transfer from the German champions. In the final year of his contract, the Spanish international is very much expected to leave this summer. (h/t Metro)

Reports earlier this week had claimed that French champions PSG were also keen on signing Thiago. It was also  claimed that the former Barcelona star was also intent on moving to Parc des Princes over Liverpool, as he desired to play alongside the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. (h/t Mirror)

However, Fabrizio Romano, on the podcast, has insisted that the 29-year-old is keen on securing a transfer to Liverpool, as he desires to play under Jurgen Klopp.

“The player would love to join Liverpool, he would love to play for Jurgen Klopp. He hopes it can be a possibility.”

Thiago has developed into one of the best central midfielders in Europe since moving to Bayern back in 2013. While we have a well-stocked midfield unit, signing someone of his quality and class should be a no-brainer for the club.

It has been claimed that Bayern will demand a transfer fee of around £32m for the midfielder. Liverpool, though, value the Spanish international at £18m given he has one year left on his contract. (h/t Metro)

With the midfielder intent on making the switch and the club keen on landing him as well, we could very well see Thiago strutting his stuff at Anfield next season.
