Leeds United interested in Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster

According to the Mirror, Premier League newbies Leeds United are plotting a double raid on Liverpool for the signings of attacking duo of Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster.

Leeds are back in the Premier League after a 16-year long wait, having won the EFL Championship in the 2019/20 campaign. And ahead of their return to the top flight, manager Marcelo Bielsa is intent on strengthening his squad, with Origi and Brewster now on his radars. (h/t Mirror)

Origi’s future has been a subject of speculation of late, with the likes of Aston Villa and Lazio taking an interest in signing him this summer. And now, Leeds too have joined the bandwagon, as they look to pry away the Belgian international from Anfield.

Having not been a regular in the first-team, Origi is open to leaving Anfield in search of game-time and wants to stay in the Premier League. (h/t Mirror)

Brewster, on the other hand, returned from a successful loan spell at Swansea City, where he almost led them to promotion. The youngster shone bright on loan and was on target in our pre-season friendly against VfB Stuttgart as well. However, he, too, is unlikely to get a lot of playing time and may leave on loan for another term. (h/t Mirror)

And Leeds are hoping to beat the likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa and fellow newbies Fulham in the race to land the England youth international on loan for the next season. (h/t Mirror)

There is a good chance that we might see both Origi and Brewster leave this summer, with the latter set for another temporary spell away from Anfield to benefit his development. It remains to be seen if they do end up at Leeds, who will be our first opponents in the 2020/21 Premier League.
