Sheffield United hold talks over Rhian Brewster loan
According to 90min.com (h/t Mirror), Premier League outfit Sheffield United have held discussions with champions Liverpool for the loan signing of academy ace Rhian Brewster this summer.
The 20-year-old striker is one of the most highly-rated prospects to have come through our academy ranks in recent years. Having made his senior debut in September 2019, Brewster has gone on to feature two more times for the Reds.
Brewster was loaned out to Swansea City for the second half of the 2019/20 campaign, where he made quite the impact. The young Englishman featured 22 times for the Championship side and found the back of the net on 11 occasions, leading their push for a promotion. However, they were eliminated in the playoff semi-finals.
Naturally, his exploits have sparked a lot of interest in the Premier League. The likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Leeds United and Fulham have all shown an interest in Brewster. However, as per 90min (h/t Mirror), Sheffield United have emerged as the front-runners to land the England youth international on loan.
It is claimed that the Blades have already held discussions with Liverpool for the signing of the 20-year-old, with manager Chris Wilder seeing him as the perfect fit for his system.
Brewster showed what he can do in our friendly encounter against RB Salzburg earlier in the week. The young forward came off the bench to score a blistering brace and salvage a draw for Liverpool.
Always happy to score in this shirt! Good to get more minutes in the legs. We keep working #LFC pic.twitter.com/58AXzZvpm0

However, for him to continue his development, regular game-time is of paramount importance. But, that is something that cannot be guaranteed at Liverpool at this point.
Thus, loaning him out for another season, to a Premier League club, would be the best option for the club.
