Rhian Brewster could be set for Swansea City return

According to The Telegraph, Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster could be set for another loan stint at EFL Championship outfit Swansea City.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of the 2019/20 campaign with the Welsh outfits. Under the tutelage of former Liverpool youth coach Steve Cooper, Brewster flourished, as he plundered 11 goals in 22 matches, almost leading the Swans to promotion.

Back at Liverpool, Brewster impressed in the pre-season training camp in Austria. However, his first-team prospects look bleak, given that there is no looking past the trio of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane for the first-choice slots.

A lot of clubs in the Premier League have shown an interest in taking him on loan for the current season. The likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have all been monitoring the England youth international. (h/t Mirror)

However, Liverpool’s delay in making a decision on the future of their starlet has made the three clubs look elsewhere and land other targets. (h/t Mirror)

Brighton & Hove Albion hare also keen on the 20-year-old’s services. However, Brewster has concerns over whether he will be featuring regularly at the Amex Stadium. As a result, the youngster is now considering the possibility of signing for Swansea again. (h/t The Telegraph)

Brewster enjoys a fine relationship with Swans’ boss Cooper. At the same time, the 20-year-old would be a guaranteed starter at the Liberty Stadium. This may not be the case at any Premier League club who are keen on signing him.

Brewster finds himself in a dilemma currently. Regular game time is a necessity for him to continue his progression. Playing at the Premier League level would have been a major learning experience for the youngster. However, a return to Swansea could be equally beneficial as he will be playing regularly.

So, it remains to be seen what the immediate future holds for Brewster.
