Liverpool agree on a deal to bring Marcelo Pitaluga to Anfield

A report by Globo Esporte (h/t Daily Mail) suggests that Liverpool are close to securing their second signing of the new season. 17-year-old Brazilian shot-stopper Marcelo Pitaluga is the man in question, as has been clarified by the report.

It has been suggested that the highly-rated youngster is very close to making the switch to Merseyside. A deal worth in the region of £1.8m has been touted for his purchase. Pitaluga would join Alisson Becker in Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeping contingent if the deal is completed in the coming days. (h/t Daily Mail)

The Liverpool scouts have seemingly been keeping detailed tabs on Pitaluga’s development in Fluminense for a number of months now. (h/t Daily Mail)

Although the Reds had their first bid for the player rejected by the Brazilian club, a second offer worth around £930,000, with an additional £930,000 in add-ons and performance-based bonuses, is said to have now tipped the scales in their favour. (h/t Daily Mail)
