Liverpool unwilling to sanction the sale of Mohamed Salah to Barcelona

A recent report by the The Atheltic (h/t Express) is claiming that Barcelona are interested in signing Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah. But, it has been clarified that the Reds have no interest in cashing in on the Egyptian.

The Catalan side have seemingly made the Liverpool man their main transfer priority for the current summer window, as Ronald Koeman looks to carry Barcelona back to their glory days. (h/t Express)

The Dutch manager is said to be keen on making multiple attacking additions to the side. With veteran striker Luis Suarez expected to leave the club, Salah is being viewed as good option. Real Madrid’s interest in Salah has been well documented, but talk of a move to Barcelona has only come up recently. (h/t Express)

Liverpool have historically been one of the most successful clubs in the whole of the UK. Up until a few years ago though, the Merseyside club would have had to be described as a shadow of their former self.

Despite having the pedigree and history of a massive European club, the Reds were never able to achieve their ambitions or pick up any important trophies for a long time.

Since Jurgen Klopp’s takeover, they have transitioned from a big team into a European heavyweight. And, one of the main reasons behind this exponential rise was the signing of Salah.

The former Chelsea man arrived at Anfield from AS Roma for a relatively small fee, especially when compared to prices in today’s inflated football market. Not only has he developed into a key player for Klopp on the pitch, but his personality and off-field antics have made him a popular figure within the club as well.

The number of important goals that Salah has scored for Liverpool can be quantified, but his contribution towards the Champions League and Premier League titles were priceless to say the least. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the club will not consider offloading him. Barcelona can look somewhere else.
