Liverpool consider loan move for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele

According to reports in France (h/t Mirror), reigning Premier League champions Liverpool are considering a loan move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.

It has been suggested that Jurgen Klopp is keen on the speedster, who has failed heavily to live up to the lofty expectations that were set by his almost ludicrous price-tag. Despite this, the Liverpool manager seems to be intent on bringing the talented youngster to Anfield on a loan deal for the upcoming season. (h/t Mirror)

Having started the season looking like the dark horses in terms of the transfer market, Liverpool have now completed two blockbuster signing in the matter of just days. The long-awaited arrival of Thiago Alcantara has been received extremely well by Reds fan, while they also went on to acquire Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jurgen Klopp’s desire to strengthen his side ahead of what promises to be a strenuous title defence is only understandable. It is now being claimed that the Reds’ next target is Dembele. (h/t Mirror)

Although it has been clarified that Liverpool do prefer a loan move for the time being, a permanent move mustn’t be ruled out completely either. (h/t Mirror)

The 23-year-old has been at the Nou Camp for over three seasons now. But he has featured in just 51 La Liga appearances for the Catalan club – a period during which he notched up an average-looking tally of 12 goals and 12 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

However, with 21 caps under his belt for the French national team already, it’s safe to say that Dembele possesses the quality required to fulfil his hefty potential.

This Liverpool team didn’t boast the best of attacking rosters at the start of the season beyond the first-choice trio. But the arrival of Jota should add more quality depth. Takumi Minamino, too, looks like he’s beginning to finally settle into life in the Premier League.

Throw Dembele into the mix and the Reds would be unstoppable.
