Jurgen Klopp gives Naby Keita injury boost but still no sign of Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara
Speaking ahead of the game vs Tottenham (h/t Liverpool Echo), Jurgen Klopp gave an injury update on Naby Keita and a host of other players.
Naby Keita has had a tough run with injuries ever since joining Liverpool. However, Klopp revealed that Keita has made a comeback from his latest such setback.
Speaking on the availability of the Guinean midfielder ahead of the match against Tottenham Hotspur, Jurgen Klopp revealed that he is back in full training.
“He was yesterday involved in the extended warming up. There is another session today, we will see how he reacts and make a decision.”
Keita was touted as one of the most exciting Bundesliga talents. Unfortunately, his wretched run with injuries has curtailed any chance for him to replicate that reputation at Anfield.
The fans would be hoping that he remains fit for a long time now because they are not alien to his qualities when he does get the chance to play.
Klopp had some bad news to give as well. There was no positive update from him on Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.
The German confirmed that the two were not involved in the training session. On Matip, his initial optimism turned into realistic scepticism.

The Reds boss revealed that the Cameroonian may not be available to play against Tottenham Hotspur, courtesy of a back spasm he suffered against Fulham recently.
“We only played 2 days ago and he left the pitch with a back spasm. The physios work pretty much 24 hours on him, so we will see.”
