Team News: Liverpool receive timely injury boost as Sadio Mane, Alisson, and Fabinho return to training ahead of Manchester City clash

In what is positive team news, speaking before the game against Manchester City (h/t Manchester Evening News), Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Alisson, Fabinho, and Sadio Mane have been cleared from injury to return to training.

All three were absent in the Reds’ 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion due to an illness. Mane, on the other hand, had missed two games for Liverpool.

Fabinho was absent for the past two weeks and last appeared for the team on January 24th. But Klopp now confirms that the trio is back in training ahead of the important league clash.

Ozan Kabak has been given international clearance and is available for selection against Manchester City.

“All three boys, Ali is much better, good enough to have an individual session today. Sadio and Fab will be in parts of training today, parts of team training and we will see.”

Timely injury boost

On top of that, the German also mentioned that new signing Ozan Kabak will be available for selection after he was given clearance to play in England.

“International clearance, yes, which is great.”

Manchester City are not without their selection headaches. The Citizens will be travelling to Anfield without Sergio Aguero, Nathan Ake, and Kevin de Bruyne. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

Regardless of that, they are in superb form and are unbeaten in 13 league matches. The Reds, on the other hand, come on the back of a dire string of games which has derailed their title charge.

After a 68-match unbeaten home run in the league, Klopp’s side have succumbed to back-to-back defeats at Anfield, which is a rarity. The Reds trail City by 7 points and have played a game more.
