Florian Neuhaus not ruling out exit in summer transfer window amidst interest from Liverpool and other clubs
Speaking to Kicker (h/t Daily Mail), Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus refused to deny a summer exit amidst transfer links with Liverpool and Manchester City.
Earlier this month, Kicker (h/t Daily Mail) mentioned that Liverpool are leading the race to sign the German midfielder as they prepare to replace Geroginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman’s current contract will expire at the end of this season.
Neuhaus had admirers in both Klopp and Pep Guardiola. But they would have to fend off competition from a host of clubs if they are to land the 23-year-old.
The report mentions that German sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, and Serie A champions Juventus are all keeping tabs on him. And Neuhaus has given them some hope.
Wijnaldum replacement?
The former Fortuna Dusseldorf man said that he is focused on his goals with Monchengladbach this season. However, he is not sure as to what will happen once the season ends.
“I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season. [Transfer talk] is really not a big issue for me now. I can’t say what will happen in the summer at the moment.”
Neuhaus has a £35million release clause in his contract. Wijnaldum is yet to renew his Liverpool contract.
