Andy Robertson has his say on reports saying he clashed with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the dressing room
Rumours emerged after the Reds’ 3-1 loss to Leicester City earlier in the month that the two clashed inside the changing room. These talks were shortly quashed by club captain Jordan Henderson.
And now, the Scotsman himself has had a chance to clear out any confusion there was regarding the incident. Robertson was at his comedic best as he was disappointed at the fact that the rumours had him at the receiving end.
“I don’t look like the boxing type, do I!” said the left-back. The least (likely) two people to fight in the dressing room are myself and Ali, to be honest. I love how I was the one who ended up with the burst lip. I would rather it was the other way about but beggars can’t be choosers!”
Unity in crisis
He stated that such ‘nonsense’ is a part and parcel of the game and that the players need to block it out on the training ground. The Reds are in a slump at the moment. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
A defeat to Everton at Anfield for the first time since 1999 has turned the situation at the club into a full-blown crisis. The title race seems to be out of reach and the club should now aim for a top-4 finish.
That too would not come easy. The Reds are out of the UEFA Champions League spots at the moment and would slip further down if Everton and Aston Villa were to win their games in hand.
