Liverpool among teams interested in Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer

A report by Italian outlet Toro News mentions that Liverpool are interested in signing Torino centre-back, Gleison Bremer.

The Reds are not the only club after him. Fulham, West Ham United, and Merseyside rivals Everton are also keen on the 23-year-old defender.

Torino are aware that the player is courting interest from several clubs. The Brazilian recently changed his agent who is active in the English market.

In light of this, Torino want to renew his contract. Bremer signed from Atletico Mineiro in 2018 and his current deal expires in the summer of 2023. (h/t Toro News)

Liverpool have had a plethora of defensive injuries this season. Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are all sidelined with long-term injuries at the moment.

Tug-of-war for Bremer

This has seen a severe shortage of defenders at the club. Even the midfielders who stepped in to deputize at centre-back, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, have succumbed to injuries.

Bremer can now only be signed by the club as soon as the end of the current season as the January transfer window is closed. Nevertheless, he would be a smart addition to the team considering Bremer’s age and experience in Italy.

Bremer is a regular in the Torino set-up and features prominently in the heart of their defence.

He has already made 19 Serie A appearances this season and has an incredible goal tally of 4 during this campaign. Who doesn’t like a goal-scoring defender?
