Liverpool linked with a transfer move for PSV sensation Donyell Malen
A report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, via HITC (h/t Liverpool Echo), states that Liverpool are interested in signing PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen in the summer.
The Dutch striker was first brought to England by Arsenal when they signed him from Ajax’s youth academy in 2015. That didn’t work out, and the Gunners offloaded him back to the Netherlands in the summer of 2017.
They would be regretting letting the youngster go to PSV Eindhoven for just £500,000 as he has been a hit there ever since. The 22-year-old has 22 goals this season in all competitions for his club, but that’s not all.
He also had 17 goals and 9 assists last season. The young striker is definitely one of the brightest prospects in Europe.
Reinforcement in attack
And with over 100 games for PSV behind him, he also has the experience to try out his luck in the Premier League. Liverpool’s current three are not in the best of forms.
While Salah has been a deadly goalscorer this season with 24 goals in all competitions, he is without a goal in his last four league games. Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane both went without a league goal in February.
The club has felt the direct impact of this as Liverpool have failed to score a single open play goal at Anfield in 2021. And on top of that, the club are winless at Anfield since their 2-1 win against Tottenham in December.

A change up front could be what the team needs next season. Yes, the club did sign Diogo Jota last summer but Malen is a goalscorer too, who can make the No.9 position his own.
