Juventus open to selling Liverpool transfer target Aaron Ramsey in a blow to Arsenal

A report by Italian outlet CalcioMercato (h/t Express) mentions that Juventus are looking to free up funds to sign Houssem Aouar by selling Adrien Rabiot and Liverpool transfer target, Aaron Ramsey.

The 30-year-old Welsh midfielder is eyed by Jurgen Klopp as Georginio Wijnaldum’s future at the club looks doubtful.

The former PSV Eindhoven man will be without a contract in the summer and would be available as a free agent if he doesn’t renew his deal.

He looks all set to join Barcelona on a free transfer once this season ends. And Liverpool are wary of that possibility, with Ramsey at the top of the list of midfielders considered by Klopp.

Ramsey to Anfield?

Ramsey is on a massive £400,000-a-week salary at Juve and the club would want to sell him in order to free up funds. They want to focus their interest on Lyon midfielder Aouar, who came close to joining Arsenal last year.

The 22-year-old has been linked with the Gunners but they would now be worried by the fact that a club like the Old Lady are after their transfer target.

The Italian side may not win Serie A this year. But they will still be one of the favourites for it next season and would definitely be in Europe.

The same cannot be said of Arsenal, who look all set to miss out on Europe next season. As for Liverpool, signing Ramsey would be a good move considering he has loads of experience in England with Arsenal.

But the club already houses a number of players that are either 30 or are approaching that age. In that regard, signing someone who could last for a longer time at the club would make more sense.
