Liverpool have the funds to sign another forward like Mohamed Salah this year
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, Duncan Castles (h/t Express) stated that Liverpool have the money in order to go out and get another forward like Mohamed Salah in the summer.
The Reds have had a horrid season in the league as they look unlikely to finish in the top-4 at the end of this campaign. And it is understandable that they would want some sort of a ‘squad refresh’ once this season ends.
In that regard, the Merseysiders have been linked with Juventus midfielder, Aaron Ramsey, as Georginio Wijnaldum’s future remains in doubt. As for a defender, we seem to have earmarked RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate.
But the Reds are also in for a versatile forward. Salah recently stated his desire of playing in Spain amid interest from La Liga giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona. (h/t Express)
Uncertainty for Salah
And Castles states that Liverpool are looking for another winger in the summer who can double up as a striker. But he says that it doesn’t mean Salah would be leaving just yet.
“Liverpool have a budget to sign a striker, who can also play wide, in the summer window and it’s a substantial budget. They’re looking for a player of similar type to Mo Salah. Now, I’m not saying that means Salah is leaving.”
But in some worrying news for Liverpool, Castles added that Barcelona and Los Galacticos are not the only clubs after Salah. Paris Saint-Germain are also in the market for a forward as they face uncertainty over Kylian Mbappe’s future.

Injuries are surely to blame for the decline this season but Jurgen Klopp would know that keeping Salah is important to taste success. And if Liverpool can sign another prolific winger in the summer, it would only help Liverpool in their bid for silverware.
