Transfer News: Cousin of Erling Haaland makes big Liverpool transfer admission
Speaking in a Q&A session on Rising Ballers Instagram page (h/t Express), Albert Tjaaland, who is the cousin of Erling Haaland, admitted that he wanted to play for Liverpool.
Haaland is one of the biggest prospects in world football right now. His exploits at Borussia Dortmund has seen multiple clubs circle him recently, although the Reds are not expected to make a bid.
But his cousin, Tjaaland, is following in his footsteps as well. The report mentions that the youngster has 64 goals in 37 games at youth level.
And he admitted that he was a Liverpool fan when he was asked about a potential transfer in the future.
“Of course I want to play in the best league in the world, my favourite team is Liverpool so *emoji*.”
One or the other
The 17-year-old is now playing at Molde, where his cousin also played and scored 20 goals in 50 matches. The Norwegian, on the other hand, impressed even before his time with Molde when he was at Bryne.
He has now signed a professional contract with Molde and would be looking to emulate his brother’s success. Liverpool are not said to be after the youngster just yet. (h/t Express)
But he is one to keep an eye out for, and with his recent comments about the club, maybe Jurgen Klopp would take a notice of the situation. There is nothing to suggest that he will, but it would definitely be a punt worth the risk.

Haaland’s price tag could be massive but the report mentions that Liverpool are set to meet with his agent, Mino Raiola, and father, Alfe-Inge Haaland later this week. If this move falls apart, Tjaaland would not be a bad punt to take.
