Transfer News: Borussia Dortmund interested in signing Liverpool man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes via Anfield Watch (h/t Liverpool Echo), Borussia Dortmund want to ‘seduce’ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into joining Borussia Dortmund from Liverpool.
The English midfielder was supposed to highlight his importance to the squad this season. But injuries and lack of consistency in his playing time have prevented that from happening.
And now, the German giants want to bring aboard another Englishman in their ranks. They already have Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham from the British isles.
The report mentions that Oxlade-Chamberlain has ‘seemingly’ grown tired of the lack of minutes at Liverpool. The 27-year-old has made just two Premier League starts this season.

Furthermore, it is believed that the Reds would agree to a fee of somewhere around £20million for the former Arsenal player. That is a substantial loss considering they agreed to a transfer fee rising up to £40million with Arsenal back in 2017 for him.
Dortmund can afford the fee if they sell Erling Haaland or Jadon Sancho. As for the Reds, Ox is a player that may not leave too big of a void.
He did have his fair share of moments, especially against Manchester City in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, but that was as far as his contributions ever got for the club.
Ox’s constant knocks and injuries also becoming a growing cause of frustration for the fans and probably even the personnel at the club. Furthermore, the Reds seem to have midfielders to replace him as well.

Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Jodan Henderson, the evergreen James Milner, and Curtis Jones can all fill that gap in a three-man midfield. But if Georginio Wijnaldum also leaves at the end of the season alongside Ox, then Jurgen Klopp might have to dip in the transfer market.
