Transfer News: Zambia coach provides update about Patson Daka as links with Liverpool continue
According to journalist Hugo Zoff (h/t Liverpool Echo), Zambia coach Milutin Sredojevic has stated Patson Daka is absent from the national team set-up in order to sort out his future, amid transfer links with Liverpool.
Daka has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds. Spanish outlet Todofichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo) stated earlier this week that he was linked with Liverpool and the move could be completed in the next few days.
And Daka was missing from the latest Zambia squad. But their coach has pointed out that it is because he has to decide his future.
“Daka, Mwepu and Kangwa have to decide on their next future, and it is just fair that they can make a decision that is in the best interest of the country.”
Daka to Anfield?
The youngster has been flying for RB Salzburg this season. He had to fill in the shoes of Erling Haaland, which he has done with great success.
His tally of 34 goals and 12 assists across all competitions is surely one that would catch the eye of the big boys. The Reds would hope that he can become Roberto Firmino’s competitor.
The Brazilian is not the most lethal goalscorer in the league, and Liverpool also have to put a squad in place for the future if they want their success to continue and multiply.
Divock Origi has given the Reds a handful of big moments to celebrate in the past. But as it has turned out, the Belgian has not been trusted to lead the line for Liverpool on a regular occasion.
