Transfer News: Jurgen Klopp wants four new players at Liverpool

According to transfer news from Daily Star, Jurgen Klopp has asked Liverpool director Michael Edwards for four new signings. The manager wants to strengthen the midfield and forward lines after completing the signing of Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool did not have the best of seasons last year. The Reds were hit with a barrage of injuries, especially in defence with Klopp pretty much scraping the barrel to put out 11 men. Early losses at the start of this year made Liverpool’s run-in to the top four a bit complicated but they succeeded.

To avoid any such mishaps, Liverpool have acted fast in the transfer market so far. The signing of Konate means that Liverpool might not be short-staffed in defence. However, the midfield and forward areas could be in need of some new faces ahead of the new season.

Due to that, Klopp has asked director Michael Edwards for four new signings. Firstly, he wants Yves Bissouma and Youri Tielemans to bolster the midfield. Wijnaldum has left the club and replacements will be needed. Let’s not forget Henderson and Milner, who are not getting any younger.

In the attack, Leeds winger Raphinha and Salzburg striker Patson Daka have been touted as targets. Firmino hasn’t had much to show for over the last season while Mane had one of his worst seasons. Some new names there could help in rejuvenating the side.
