Transfer News: Liverpool target Yves Bissouma wants Arsenal move

According to news from Football.london, Liverpool transfer target Yves Bissouma has instructed his agent to secure him a summer move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Bissouma has steadily grown into one of the most impressive central midfielders in the Premier League since signing for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018. While the Seagulls have been close to the drop zone quite regularly, the Malian midfielder has stood out as one of their top performers and has, indeed, registered on the radars of several big clubs, including Arsenal.

Liverpool are interested in signing Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma if Wijnaldum does not renew his contract at Liverpool.

Liverpool, too, have shown an interest in securing the transfer of Bissouma in the summer, as they prepare for the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum. The ever-dependable Dutchman is set to leave when his contract expires later this month, which would leave a massive hole in the Reds’ midfield department.

However, Jurgen Klopp & co. may have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Bissouma, who is desiring a transfer to Arsenal. Indeed, the 24-year-old is believed to have instructed his agent, Michael N’Cho, to engineer a transfer to the Emirates this summer. (h/t Football.london)

However, as things stand, there has been no contact between the club nor an offer has been made.

More Liverpool News:

Bissouma missed just two Premier League games in the entirety of the last season. An aggressive midfielder, the Malian is strong in his challenges, adds a sense of steeliness to the unit but backs it up with quality on the ball as well.

Someone like the 24-year-old could have proven to be a vital addition for Liverpool in their bid to replace Wijnaldum. However, it seems like Bissouma has his heart set on a transfer to Arsenal, thus leaving the Reds to look at other options.
