Ousmane Dembele and Yves Bissouma would be perfect additions for Liverpool claims John Barnes
Speaking to Betting Odds (h/t Brighton & Hove Independent), former Liverpool winger John Barnes has claimed Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele and Yves Bissouma of Brighton would be the perfect summer signings for the club.
An important summer awaits Liverpool following their failure to defend the Premier League title. In Ibrahima Konate, the Reds have already added to their defensive line ahead of the next season.
But having lost Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer, Liverpool will need to replace the Dutchman. And, with the Africa Cup of Nations coming next year, adding another forward in order to cover for Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, while also bolstering the quality of the attack is something that must be looked at.
And, Barnes, to that end, has suggested that Bissouma of Brighton and Barcelona’s Dembele can be the ideal signings for Liverpool this summer.
“I think Yves Bissouma would be the perfect fit for Liverpool. Bissouma is very strong and he’s very good on the ball.
Barnes is of the opinion that Liverpool would be better off going for a defensive-minded player like Bissouma instead of a goalscoring midfielder as they have the front three capable of capable of finding the back of the net consistently enough.
“That’s why I believe that Bissouma would suit Liverpool and that front three perfectly. He would also be a shield in front of the back four and for me. He and Ousmane Dembele would be the perfect additions for Liverpool next season.”

Bissouma, in his three years with Brighton, has grown into a reliable midfielder and would be a handy signing for Liverpool.
As for Dembele, the Frenchman is a gifted individual entering the final year of his contract with Barcelona. If one overlooks his injury issues, which have eased considerably in the past season, he can add a greater threat and variety to Liverpool’s attacking options as well.
