Transfer News: Liverpool pursuing Adam Hlozek with West Ham United and AC Milan also interested
According to a report by Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have intensified their transfer interest in teenage striker, Adam Hlozek.
The 18-year-old impressed last season at Sparta Prague, scoring 15 goals and assisting 9 times. However, Liverpool can expect competition for him from two other clubs.
Fellow Premier League side West Ham United and Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in the Czech Republic attacker that led his team to a 2nd-placed finish in the league this season.
The report mentions that ‘recruitment source’ has insisted that he is on Liverpool’s radar. Fans can watch more of him at this year’s UEFA Euro 2020.
He already made his debut for the Czech national team against Slovakia last year in the UEFA Nations League, and came on for around 18 minutes in their opening Euros win against Scotland earlier this month. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Liverpool can use a striker to compete with Roberto Firmino for starts. While Hlozek is still very young, he can still provide good backup for the Brazilian, especially in cup games.
The £20million price tag set by his current club is also not overly exorbitant. If the Reds do manage to sign Hlozek and the striker grows into a world-class player, they can benefit from his increase in transfer valuation.
Moreover, they would stand a chance to find a long-term replacement for Firmino. Divock Origi hasn’t looked like that man while Diogo Jota’s best utility is on the wings.
