Transfer News: Liverpool target Lorenzo Pellegrini to remain at Roma

According to transfer news from Daily Star, Liverpool have received a setback in their pursuit for Lorenzo Pellegrini. The Roma midfielder wants to remain at the club and emulate the likes of Francesco Totti who stayed at the club through his career.

Pellegrini, who is also capped for his national team, can be a suitable replacement in the midfield for the outgoing Wijnaldum.

Now, Liverpool have a problem thrown at them. Pellegrini wants to remain at Roma. He wants to remain at the club and follow in the footsteps of legends such as Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi. The midfielder is also keen to be a part of new manager Jose Mourinho’s project.

It remains to be seen what Liverpool do now. But with the absence of Wijnaldum and James Milner’s contract expiring next year, Klopp should consider signing someone in midfield. Last season, inadequate squad depth hurt us badly and the same should be avoided.
