Transfer News: Liverpool to battle Arsenal, West Ham for Adam Hlozek
According to transfer news from Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Liverpool are interested in Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek but will competition from Arsenal, West Ham and Lazio.
Hlozek, 18, came through the youth ranks at Sparta Prague and made his first-team debut for the club in 2018, when he was just 16 years old. Since then, the forward has accumulated 85 appearances for the Czech Republic outfit, scoring 28 goals. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The 2020/21 campaign was Hlozek’s most productive one in his career, despite him missing large chunks of the season due to injury, as he managed to bag 15 goals and 9 assists from 23 games. His form for Sparta Prague has also earned him a spot in the Czech Republic national team as well.
Now, Hlozek has emerged as a transfer target for a top club like Liverpool, along with fellow English sides Arsenal, West Ham United as well as Serie A outfit Lazio, claims Schira.
Liverpool could do with the addition on a new forward this summer seeing as Roberto Fimino underwhelmed big time during the season gone by.
With Divock Origi also out of favour at Anfield, bringing in an up and coming talent like Hlozek, who has already shown his quality at the senior level, could potentially pay off for Jurgen Klopp & co.

However, Hlozek is contracted with his club till the summer of 2024, having signed an extension only last month. And, as Schira adds, Sparta Prague are likely to demand a transfer fee of €18-20m. Whether Liverpool are willing to part with that kind of money for a teenager, remains to be seen.
