Transfer News: Otavio wants to move to Liverpool

According to transfer news from Daily Star, Porto star Otavio wants a move to Liverpool. The Reds are leading the race for Otavio ahead of Fiorentina and Valencia. He has a buyout clause of €60million but he can be signed for around €40million.

The Brazilian enjoyed arguably his most productive campaign in 2020, contributing with 2 goals and 15 assists on 48 appearances across all competitions as Porto won the Primeira Liga. The former Internacional star has registered 19 goals and 49 assists in 188 appearances for Porto across all competitions.

Liverpool lack creativity in the middle of the park. They don’t have that natural playmaker in the side that can crack open defences. Add to that the departure of Gini Wijnaldum and one can see that a new midfielder might just be required.

Otavio has often spoken about his admiration for the Reds and how he would prefer a move to Anfield. While other teams are interested, he is likely to move there. He has a buyout clause of €60million. However, he can be signed for €40million if a deal is agreed on in June.

Liverpool will also be losing the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane to AFCON next year and they will need attacking reinforcements. Otavio can make a decent addition in that regard and shore up the midfield by adding some goals from there.
