Transfer News: Liverpool will have to pay €40m for Domenico Berardi
According to transfer news from Mirror, Liverpool will have to shell out €40m in order to sign Domenico Berardi. The Italian star has attracted the attention of clubs such as Liverpool, Leicester, Inter Milan and Lazio.
Berardi is a product of the Sassuolo youth academy and has spent his entire professional career in Italy. He did have an underwhelming spell at Juventus before joining his current side. The Italian winger had also made a big impression at Sassuolo this season with 17 goals and 8 assists in all competitions.
While Berardi was a household name in the Serie A, his talent shone through at the Euros and he is the name on everyone’s lips. The 26-year-old starred for the Azzurri in their group stages as they won all three games. He also featured in the round-of-16 win against Austria.
Hence, it was no surprise to see the winger get linked with a move to Liverpool. Nonetheless, Sassuolo have set a rather sizable €40m asking price for their star man. Leicester, Inter Milan and Lazio have also shown interest in the Italian forward.

While he can be a sturdy replacement for either of Liverpool’s wingers in the long term, his immediate importance cannot be undermined either. The Reds need quality attackers to compete for starts. They already have Diogo Jota but Berardi can offer another great option to Jurgen Klopp in case one of the front three gets injured.
