Fans react as Liverpool unveil away kit for 2021/22 season
Just a little over a month for the 2021/22 campaign to kick off. With the anticipation building as teams get into pre-season, this is also the time for clubs to confirm the kits for the new season.
And, on Thursday morning Liverpool unveiled their away kit for the 2021/22 season. In a throwback to the 1996/97 season, the new strip boasts a colour combination of off-white stone and teal.
The strip comes with a collar that also has white stripes along the edges, with blue shorts and white socks set to be worn along with it. The 96-emblem sits on the nape of the neck in memory of the 96 men, women and children who lost their lives in the Hillsborough tragedy.
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones spoke about the new kit, saying that it was a perfect throwback to the 90s and added that fans would love the design.
“I think the fans will love this one. It’s a perfect reflection of the city and you can see the inspiration throughout the design with a throwback to the 90s.”
Liverpool posted several pictures of stars donning the new away kit on social media and fans were quick to express their thoughts on the strip that their favourite players will be wearing on the road in 2021/22 hoping to reclaim the Premier League title.
Here are some of the reactions from the supporters on the new kit.
