According to a report by The Hard Tackle (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are now in the race to sign highly-rated Santos starlet Kaio Jorge.

AC Milan have already been linked with the 19-year-old, with the report mentioning that I Rossoneri are the ‘favourites’ to sign him. Jorge is an exciting centre-forward who has come through the ranks at Santos.

Santos, like Liverpool, is a club with rich history and has produced some of the greatest players known to humankind – including Pele as well as Neymar.

LFC in for Jorge

Liverpool need someone to rival Roberto Firmino for starts. Jorge is still pretty young but if signed, the youngster can be an understudy to Liverpool’s current No.9.

The club does have Divock Origi but his departure from Liverpool looks likely. According to 90min (h/t Liverpool Echo), Origi is wanted by a number of clubs including Celtic as well as Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

Jorge might not be the most popular name in European football but AC Milan’s pursuit of the youngster goes to show that he is in demand. Jorge, who has represented Brazil at the U20 level, might not be a first-team regular if he comes in.

It would make more sense for Jurgen Klopp to make the teenager get used to English football in the U23 Premier League. But those are all plans for if the Reds actually do manage to sign the youngster.
